Bryan Boyd is a freelance designer and educator based in Portland, Oregon. Bryan has designed scenery, projections, and lighting for companies including Portland’s Third Rail Repertory Theatre, Artists Repertory Theatre, Broadway Rose Theatre Company, and Northwest Children’s Theater, with additional work in Seattle for Sound Theatre Company and Seattle Musical Theatre.
Bryan also provides event design and drafting services for corporate clients including global sportswear, software, and aerospace companies. His drafting and design work has supported events across the U.S. and internationally, including the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the Royal Holloway University of London, and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Bryan runs the design and technical theatre program at George Fox University and directs the Theatre Design Institute, a series of summer continuing education courses for theatre teachers and local theatre artists.
Bryan was awarded Set Design of the Decade by the 2020 BroadwayWorld Portland Awards for Mamma Mia! at Broadway Rose and was named a Scenic Design Faculty Fellow by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
